The firm remembers Ed Boutin with fondness and gratitude for his many years of dedication to his practice, to the profession, and to the many individuals who were integral parts of the firm over the years.
John L. Altieri, Jr., formally retired from the practice in 2023 after a long and successful career of service to his clients and the firm. John has a wide array of experience in trials, appeals, and arbitrations, involving insurance coverage and business disputes throughout the United States and abroad. Mr. Altieri's practice areas included representation in complex business litigation, insurance coverage litigation, business fraud litigation, banking litigation, and antitrust law.
Before partnering with Ed Boutin to form the firm of Boutin & Altieri, Mr. Altieri was a Partner at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, serving as head of the litigation department of its New York office. For many years, Mr. Altieri made complex business matters understandable to civil case jurors, and has written chapters on jury selection and jury verdict forms, which have been featured in the ABA West Treatise on "Law and Practice of Insurance Litigation." He also lectured extensively on allocation, good faith, and the management of mega claims at continuing education programs for lawyers, insurance claim managers and other insurance professionals.
Mr. Altieri retired from practice in 2023.
